19 of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The athlete, a former number one, has experienced a difficult year, winning just one win at the big events and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.

Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his service game in particular - caused him falling of the top ten and ultimately splitting with long-term coach Cervara.

Presently working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has steadily improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested three-set victory over opponent Moutet.

It is his initial championship since the Rome competition and initial on a hard court since that period of that year.

Victory also signifies Medvedev has won 21 victories at 21 distinct events.

"It's the first time I have attended a competition with my both daughters at once, so to get a championship is really nice," said world number 14 Medvedev.

"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

Medvedev, the former major winner, had lost his previous six finals, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.

The player's retrieving play style and frequent outbursts on the tennis court had caused commentators to question if his ability to compete at the elite level was concluded.

However the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to approach the net and play positively, supported by an better serve.

The champion fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, securing 4 of the concluding five games to take the lead.

The competitors traded breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden professional title, took control to force a third set.

Moutet rescued four early opportunities in a competitive deciding set before the champion won the break to that score to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev earned victory with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman unable to manage a shot after two hours and 38 minutes.
